Socrates' Attitude Toward Religion In "The Apology"

Abstract: 5 pages in length. Charged with disbelieving the gods, Socrates staunchly supported the philosophical perspective of religion over that which was set down by divinity. Religion was not merely a sanctified entity to Socrates but rather a collective composite that included how human beings interpreted its meaning; to this end, he sought to incorporate the tenets of both mankind and deity as a means by which to better portray the greater essence of religion's holism.
