Abstract: A 9 page paper looking at the problems facing and the options available to the US in developing a national security policy following the collapse of the old Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact. There were lessons presented following World War I and World War II that must be remembered in formulating a new plan for the post-cold war era. Bibliography lists 8 sources.
