NATOs Future Role

Abstract: A 13 page paper discussing the roles NATO has set for itself for the 21st Century, including: expansion of the partnership to include more free states; a lasting order of peace for Europe based on human rights, freedom and democracy; meet the challenges of regional crisis and conflict management, improving the security and stability for Euro-Atlantic nations; and the consolidation of democratic and free societies on the European continent in order to create an undivided Europe. The paper discusses the opposing views to expansion, and its treatment of the Russia-Ukraine issue, and looks at ways in which the stated role could be improved upon. Bibliography lists 10 sources.
