Abstract: 6 pages in length. Despite studies that report AIDS-related deaths are on the decline, there has been -- and will continue to be -- a tremendous burden upon the general public with regard to general health issues and all associated with it. A disease so wicked that its consequences even affect those who are not afflicted with it, AIDS has placed a huge price tag on society that influences the health status and care of every single person, regardless of their age, gender or social status. The writer addresses the effects of AIDS on public health, as well as discusses how the gay population feels about mandatory testing. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
