Should Government Intervene in the Employment Contract?

Abstract: The employment contract is a personal contract between the employer and the employee. It may be argued that this should be sufficient to regulate the employment contract. However, there are interventions from government in a number of ways. This 8 page discusses how and why intervention may be necessary and considers whether or not this needs to be the case.
