Behavior Modification: Smoking

Abstract: 7 pages in length. Wanting to quit smoking and having the wherewithal to actually achieve this difficult goal are two entirely different ideas being that the desire alone often falls short of being successful. The student has tried at least two methods to help increase the success rate over and above simple desire, however, they have not proven effective. Personal motivation is strong yet the tug of nicotine addiction is typically stronger and has served to derail the student's efforts. Another approach through exercise is suggested as a means by which to use the body's own system as an ally in both fighting the urge to smoke and becoming healthier for it.
