Muslim Women's Rights

Abstract: A 12 page paper discussing aspects of Muslim women's rights. The rights of Muslim women vary widely across geographical space and within the laws of countries where Muslims constitute the majority of the population. Muslim women have few rights in some countries, but the paradox is that they also have few rights of personal choice even in Turkey, which operates under secular law. The paper discusses civil rights, divorce, dress and the consequences of disobedience. Includes an abstract and outline. Bibliography lists 10 sources.
