Struggling against the rising tide of globalization, Africa, India and other less developed countries whose locally produced commodities hold little value in today's global economy have been forced to consider other means by which to secure their respective culture's socioeconomic and political development. The extent to which globalization has polarized and paralyzed these countries' ability to compete on a more equitable playing field is both grand and far-reaching; that such alternatives as tourism and technology represent a potentially viable cultural restructure speaks to the approach Africa, India and other less developed nations must take to re-establish their socioeconomic and political presence amidst mandatory modernization.
