Abstract: An 8 page discussion of the changing societal roles for women in the United States and Saudi Arabia. Discusses the changes which have occurred with the arrival of Islam and over time itself. Emphasizes that not all of the societal dictates which are viewed by western society as negative are indeed negative, that many play a very important role in maintaining a working culture.
