Self-Reflection in Hayden

Abstract: A seven page paper looking at the degree to which this poem by Robert Hayden is autobiographical. The paper shows that Hayden suffered a traumatic childhood in which he felt unloved by his foster parents, and this is reflected in this poem. Bibliography lists eight sources.
