Gender And Sexuality

Abstract: Gender and sexuality play an enormous role in the social construct of cultural norms. This 5 page paper proposes that there are those who would argue that gender role definitions are somewhat under the control of the individual and, as such, are a matter of personal responsibility. In this light, gender roles do not pose a significant barrier to social functioning. If viewed from the perspective of gender roles being the foundation of sexual harassment, however, the case for sexuality and gender defined roles in society as being regulative, controlling and limiting to the individual is strengthened and validated.
