Abstract: A 12 page paper discussing changes in the ways broadcast news is verified and reported. In this day of rapidly changing technologies and personal tastes, the most lasting certainty of broadcast journalism is that it will change. Journalists still are committed to the basic tenets of responsible journalism, but advances in technology and decreased lag time between discovering an event and reporting it have also reduced the ability of journalists to strictly adhere to those basic principles.
