The New York City Marathon

Abstract: A 4 page book review on Anything For A T-shirt by Ron Rubin, which chronicles the saga of The New York City Marathon and the innovative impresario who made this annual street theater/sporting event possible. Rubin explains how the annual event is much more than simply a sporting event, as it brings together the diverse peoples who make New York City their home in a way that not only creates a sense of community, but is also personally empowering to the individual participants. In addition to describing the marathon itself, Rubin's book is also very much a biography of an extraordinary man, the man who brought the world The New York City Marathon, Fred Lebow.
