Deng Xiaoping and Economic Liberalization

Abstract: This 7 page paper considers the economic reforms of Chinese premier Deng Xiaoping from an International Political Economics viewpoint, and argues that Deng liberalized Chinese economic policies because he knew it would be good for the country, but at the same time, retained strict communist control in order to create a Chinese hegemony in the region.
