The Halabja Massacre

Abstract: A 10 page paper. In March 1988, the Kurdish city of Halabja in Iraq was brutally attacked (by Iraqi military) with chemical bombs as well as with artillery and cluster bombs. It was not the first chemical attack against a Kurd village but it was the worst. This essay reports what happened and the subsequent denial of the event. The writer also discusses the failure of the international community to react. The essay also discusses what could be done to prevent future genocide events. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
