Epiphanies & Justice

Abstract: A 4 page research paper that discusses the pivotal role of epiphany in countering racism and injustice. In today's multicultural, politically aware and correct society, efforts abound to instruct children, young people, and the populace in general in regards to the fundamental nature of our common humanity and decrease the incidence of racial hatred and bigotry. While these efforts are well-intentioned and may be effective to some degree, human experience shows that in order for many bigoted individuals to change their orientation, they must first experience an epiphany of understanding that goes to the core of their being. In this regard, the writer examines two movies: Crash and Romero. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
