Chronic Respiratory Problems: The Link with Air Pollution and Considerations in Medical Care

Abstract: An 8 page examination of chronic respiratory conditions, their link with air pollution and considerations regarding treatment regime. Concludes that chronic respiratory problems are often associated with involuntary exposure to air pollution and that treatment techniques and educational intervention can be effectively modified to allow patients who may have become homebound because of treatment techniques and their perception of these techniques to reenter their societal roles. Advising patients how to avoid times of higher pollution levels and modifying even such simple considerations as the way in which oxygen is administered can have a profoundly positive impact on patient welfare.
