Antibiotic Resistance: History, Etiology, and Treatment

Abstract: A 9 page discussion of antibiotic resistance, diagnosis, and treatment. Correlations have been reported by numerous researchers regarding increased antibiotic resistance in microbial populations with high usage of antibiotic drugs. Unfortunately, however, recent evidence demonstrates that even the reduction of this utilization is not an effective means of preventing antibiotic resistance. Bibliography lists 10 sources.
