Abstract: Divorce has reached epidemic proportions in the United States, and there is evidence that changes in the attachment in families and the major cultural shifts in the importance of family have both served to support the increase in divorce rates. Unfortunately, traditional ways of meeting and assessing potential spouses are relatively ineffective, and this has also served to support increasing divorce rates in the modern era. This 5 page paper provides an overview of the issue presented and relates it to the current literature. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
