Abstract: A 12 page examination of the questions of whether God exists and whether man has an ethical objective and the authority to judge both our own and other's behavior. This paper examines the philosophies of Lewis B. Smedes and James Rachels as well as those of such classic philosophers as St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas. Bibliography lists 10 sources.
