Ivory Coast: Overcoming Conflict

Abstract: 4 pages in length. Since September 19, 2002, the Ivory Coast has experienced a major conflict due to myriad causes: ethnicity (tribalism) and ethnic rivalries, bad governance, lack of transparency, lack of respect for human right, corruption and nepotism, and unequal sharing or power. As such, one might readily argue how the economic climate of the Ivory Coast is inextricably associated with its ongoing conflict; to relief such pressure and begin to work toward peace, its economic infrastructure must experience an infusion of external support in such a way that sustains rather than detracts, such as tourism.
