Michael Cunningham's "The Hours"

Abstract: 3 pages in length. The dichotomy of searching for oneself while at the same time struggling against one's demons represents the foundation upon which Virginia Woolf's character exists in Michael Cunningham's The Hours. The extent to which Woolf endures an internal battle to free herself of such self-imposed limitations is both grand and far-reaching; that she is influenced by the other two women in the film speaks to the value of external inspiration when one is grappling with life-altering quests.
