To discount the value of Platonic and Aristotelian political conjecture would be to disregard some of history's most insightful edict on the subject; that neither man's opinions have held true in modern civilized society, however, illustrates how myopic they were with regard to attitudes of political freedom and personal rights, two aspects that have proven paramount to the staying power of Machiavellian philosophy.
