Scorsese's Urban Aesthetic

Abstract: A 9 page essay that examines film director Martin Scorsese urban aesthetic in regards to his representation of New York City in three of his films: After Hours, Mean Streets and Taxi Driver. The writer examines how the city is used in each film and argues that Scorsese portrays this environment as a nightmare vision in which a character can easily lose his way and his soul.
