Teen Females/Sub-Sahara & AIDS/HIV

Abstract: A 10 page research paper that examines the problem of HIV/AIDS incidence rates among adolescent girls living in the sub-Sahara region of Africa, which is extremely high. The writer discusses biological and cultural influences and then focuses on the fact that most of the adolescent girls infected are married, which makes the prevention messages in HIV programs impractical for them. The problem is connected to the promiscuity of men and the tradition of early marriage. Bibliography lists 13 sources.
