Supporting a Family on Minimum Wage

Abstract: A 3 page paper discussing the plight of an urban family. A hard-working and sensible family has been derailed by circumstances beyond their control. After illness, loss of health care benefits and exhausting all savings, they face the danger of homelessness despite their best efforts. The paper provides a view of how far a single minimum-wage income will stretch to support a family of five, and briefly defines functionalist, conflict and interactionist views in terms of immigration. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
