Abstract: A 5 page exploration of this painful condition. The author defines venous leg ulcers and emphasizes that the first step in addressing a leg ulcer is determining the precise kind of ulcer that one is dealing with. Non-venous ulcers might require a different treatment approach than venous ulcers. Malignant ulcers certainly demand a separate treatment regime. Venous ulcers benefit from treatment regimes that include compression. Surgery is also a valid option for treating these disorders.
