Reaction to Structural Functionalism

Abstract: A 3 page reaction paper that conveys the writer's perspective on four readings by sociologists of the structural functionalist school, specifically writing by Parsons, Durkheim and Bredemeier are analyzed. The writer argues that while all of the authors define themselves as structural functionalists -- Bredemeier specifically mentions following the work of both Durkheim and Parsons--each sociologist addresses the topic from a unique viewpoint that reflects his own orientation. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
