Abstract: A 17 page paper listing step-by-step instructions for setting up a nonprofit corporation in New York State. The paper moves line by line through IRS Form 1023, not only because it is the federal application for tax-exempt nonprofit status, but also because at one place or another, Form 1023 requires every item that the startup nonprofit needs to generate, including statements of purpose, sources of funding and intended purpose.
