Sylvia Plath/'Mirror'

Abstract: A 5 page essay that analyzes Sylvia Plath's poem 'Mirror.' The writer argues that in this poem, Plath created a narrative voice that perfectly expresses the sense of panic that women frequently feel at the prospect of aging. Through her use of tone, situation, and imagery, she expresses how the societal evaluation of women makes them feel trapped in a cycle that offers no escape, no recourse, from an ever-diminishing feeling of self-worth. Bibliography lists 2 sources.
