Attaining academic achievement in today's ever-stringent and ever-changing society is a challenge at best; at its worst, it represents the struggle between success and failure, both in an economic and personal sense. Students are forever faced with a shifting landscape of technological, scholastic and social requirements; that certain portions of this population are wholly incapable of reaching the requisite plateau before moving on to college speaks of an educational system that is not able to properly prepare students for the life challenges ahead. One such population in Kansas City's metropolitan area
