Women in Poverty

Abstract: A 7 page research paper that examines the history of social work in regards to women's poverty, beginning in the colonial period to the present. The writer argues that a look at the welfare reform of recent decades demonstrates how the perspective of Social Darwinism has persisted, under a different guise, demonizing the poor. The ramifications of this in regards to social are discussed. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
