The Elderly: Death And Bereavement

Abstract: 15 pages in length. When one considers the impact that death and bereavement have upon the elderly within a community psychology framework, there are two primary elements that comprise both their individual and collective perspective: the physical and emotional implications of getting old. The extent to which these two aspects greatly influence quality of life at this delicate stage is both grand and far-reaching; that many elderly become beset with fear of and anticipation for their own demise, as well as mourning the passing of other friends and family, speaks volumes regarding the impact death and bereavement have upon the elderly.
