Abstract: A 3 page research paper that explains the origins and achievements of the New York State Factory Investigating Commission (FIC). Begun in reaction to the tragic Triangle Shirtwaist fire of 1911, the FIC was eventually responsible for having 36 new laws passed to protect workers and the public health.
