Integer Factorization

Abstract: A 6 page paper discussing the concept of integer factorization, providing examples and listing several shortcuts. Integer factorization can be difficult to grasp at first, but it becomes quite easy with practice and with assimilation of the shortcuts common in finding factors of a number. The factor tree is useful for identifying the prime factors of numbers, though it can become quite lengthy when beginning with very large numbers. Resulting factors simplify other operations, such as finding least common denominators of fractions. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
