Abstract: This 4 page paper refers to the work of Frank Norris, called "McTeague", which asserts that environment determines choices, and appetite controls choices. This paper compares and contrasts the two main philosophies by which we all make choices: that of individual choices being more important than group choices, and survival of the fetus.
