The Declining Trust in Experts

Abstract: This 5 page paper argues that with increased class mobility, changing class structures and social norms, and increased information flow individuals have a declining trust in the knowledge and abilities of experts. This is demonstrated by an examination of the changing role of doctors in an era of alternative medicine and awareness of medical negligence combined with individual specialisation.
