Importance Of Education In Modern Africa

Abstract: This 6 page paper discusses the role of education in the development of Africa. Brief statements are made regarding the education system under colonial rule and the models the system follows today. To demonstrate the importance of incorporating African folklore into the education of children, the film Keita (The Heritage of the Griot) is discussed. The theme demonstrates that there must be an integration of the old with the new for cultural integration. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
