Russian film/Burnt by the Sun

Abstract: A 7 page research paper that analyzes Russian director Nikita Mikhalkov's film Burnt by the Sun (1993). The writer argues that leftist ideology is manifested in the film largely through stylistic devices, such as symbolism and imagery, which dramatize the approaching onslaught of Stalin's purges.
