Alachlor: Environmental and Human Health Impacts

Abstract: A 5 page discussion of the applications, properties, and problems associated with this widely used herbicide. This paper outlines the regulatory provisions which are in place in regard to drinking water and food regulations to protect human health. A discussion of the manner in which the chemical breaks down when it enters the environment is provided as well as is an outline of the reasons the herbicide is planned to be removed from use in the near future in response to lawsuits waged challenging the Environmental Protection Agency
