The Influence of International Organizations on National Policies -- Street Children and Drugs

Abstract: This 5 page report discusses street children in several Latin American nations and the lives they live in which drug use is often the only escape or pleasure they know. In some places in the world, drugs are all that matters to children who live on the street. And why should they expect something more than drugs when their entire short life has been one in which they have had to beg, steal or sell themselves simply to stay alive. Certain international efforts have influenced national programs but the problem is still one of immense proportions. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
