Abstract: A 6 page review of the film and the class and gender issues which it raises. The author of this paper expands on key aspects of the film to present an overview of the societal issues confronting postwar England. Particular attention is devoted to expounding on the gender issues which were arising during this time and to acquainting these issues with the growing feminist movement.
