Abstract: A 4 page paper discussing longevity of systems dependent on information processing. The statement of debate is that the more energy devoted to information processing within a system, the more likely it is that the system will survive. The paper agrees with the statement, but cautions against allowing the law of diminishing returns from becoming applicable. Additional information processing is valuable only to a point, after which the system can be seen as existing to be served rather than as being a tool in patient care. Bibliography lists 3 sources.
