Abstract: The theories concerning human psychological and cognitive development are seen as being dichotomized between 'nature' and 'nurture' or between innate (born within the individual) and, or, external social forces. This 6 page sample paper provides a tutorial overview of theories of human development that the student may want to consider in deciding which element they feel is most important.
