Microcephaly: Guidelines for Research

Abstract: An 8 page discussion of Microcephaly, a rare condition in which the cranium fails to grow in relation with the rest of the body. The condition is associated with a wide range of problems ranging from minor motor impairment to severe mental retardation. This paper attempts to help the student narrow down the topic to one of a more manageable size, suggesting an evaluation of the relationship between microcephaly and autism would be extremely interesting. Provides a definition of microcephaly and an outline of the conditions with which it is associated. Examines the literature specifically in regard to its correlation with autism. Bibliography lists 8 sources.
