Advance Directives

Abstract: Every individual has the right and responsibility for their own life and decisions and, if they should ever find themselves in a position where their quality of life is threatened by continued medical intervention, they should have the right to decide not to receive that treatment. This 5 page paper explores the Patient Self Determination Act of 1990 as it relates to advance directives such as the living will or the designation of a health proxy. Bibliography lists 7 sources.
