Abstract: 11 pages in length. The medical community is constantly working toward decreasing the mortality rate by improving its myriad procedures. Treatment modality for ventricular tachycardia and/or ventricular fibrillation currently includes antiarrhythmic drugs and implantable cardioverter-defibrillator; however, studies continue to be conducted as a means by which to determine if one approach is, indeed, more beneficial than the other or if there is a need to administer both in certain circumstances, a concern that requires an evidenced-based practice solution from a nursing perspective.
