Abstract: A seven page paper which looks at a number of aspects of Japanese history, including the way in which Chinese culture significantly influenced that of Japan, the similarities and differences between the political and economic interests of Japan and the UK, and the importance of the Tokugawa Shogunate in the development of present-day Japanese economics and social culture.
