Information Technology And The Media

Abstract: A 40 page research paper. Following an introduction, the paper presents three chapters that discuss how technology has influenced the individual, society and the media; the globalization of the media; and the creation of media empires. Different data are included. The dominant nine global media conglomerates are identified, eight of which are the same companies that dominate the media in the United States. Communication and information technologies have a direct relationship to the development of so few media empires. Bibliography lists 31 sources.
