Great Britain/Services and Needs of Youth

Abstract: A 55 page research paper that examines the current needs of young people in the UK balanced against how social services are meeting those needs. The writer argues that there is a serious mismatch between services and needs due to the punitive approach that public policy takes toward the young people on the lowest rungs on the economic ladder. A comprehensive overview of youth social services and public policy is offered. Bibliography lists 28 sources.
